The Brad Van Pelt Is Dead.

Brad Van Pelt, who helped form one of the most best linebacking groups in NFL history, Brad Van Pelt dies at Tuesday from an apparent heart attack. He was 58.

He was named the Giants’ player of the decade for the 1970s. Van Pelt played 14 seasons in the NFL, for the New York Giants, the Los Angeles Raiders and ended his career with the Cleveland Browns in 1986.

His career stats included 24.5 sacks and 20 interceptions in 184 games played.  He received the Maxwell Award in 1972 and was selected for the Pro Bowl in 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1980.
