Sometimes i’m really bored and i open up my google and search for some great freeware or opensource games. Some results were great and some were awful it really depends what you are lookin for and how do you look for those games.
So here is my compilation of top 5 amazing free games that you probably never played and you should:
True Combat Elite:

Gunz:

War Rock
War Rock is an online, military, tactical, first-person-shooter featuring state of the art weapons, team or solo based play and unbelievable missions and maps. With five different character classes to master, gamers can play individually or in a team. Tremulous
Tremulous is a free, open source game that blends a team based FPS with elements of an RTS. Players can choose from 2 unique races, aliens and humans. Players on both teams are able to build working structures in-game like an RTS. These structures provide many functions, the most important being spawning. The designated builders must ensure there are spawn structures or other players will not be able to rejoin the game after death. Other structures provide automated base defense (to some degree), healing functions and much more…
Trackmania Nations
Trackmania Nations , stand-alone game has one new environment, Stadium, and many features also in Sunrise, including the advertisement panels, which show ads from sponsors streamed from the internet. The game contains 100 single player tracks, the earlier ones relatively simple in both design and gameplay, but it is largely pitched as an online game. One of the main attractions is the leader board, in which people compete for the best times and points. The top 5 players can be seen on the homepage. Nations has earned an extremely high popularity (there were almost 1 million registered online players within weeks of its launch), in large part due to the wide accessibility of the freeware game.

F.E.A.R COMBAT is the best free online FPS i have played in terms of graphics and weapon choices. everyone should seriously check it out. im personally surprised to not see it on this list…

I have played Tremulous before and you are right it is a great game. Have you seen the other Open Source games they have available? Open Arena, Nexuiz, OpenFrag, GL-117. Good stuff, check it out.

I LOVE YOU! Thank you for putting Gunz on there, I’ve never seen anybody actually include it! The game itself is a bit harsh on newbies, but once you get into the expert channels, you’ll start seeing the true nature of the game – it’s faster paced and more in-depth than you imagined, I promise.

Well, you’re right(almost).
Those games are all cool and everything, but next time please try mentioning that they’re all ONLINE/MULTI-PLAYER games or that they have POOR SINGLE-PLAYER support. Thanks!

@ whoever spoke above me, are you daft enough to think 360 invented the FPS?
they are not all the same, i for example this warrock is a rusty turd, whereas COD4, JO:TR, BF2142 etc, etc are all fine inventions
that would be like me asking a FF fan “aren’t all final fantasy games the same?” i’m sure many will say yes, but the fans will say no,
open your mind or keep your opinions locked away

what alot of people don’t know about is Nexuiz (http://www.alientrap.org/nexuiz/) which is one of the sickest fps games i’ve ever played. It has great ai so you can play online or with bots. or both hehe. but definitely something that should be on this list.

WAROCK was an awful awful game. I to am surprised to not see FEAR on here, seing as it far surpasses any of these with the possible exception of Trackmania (i’ve never played it.)

This is a great post. I have seen ads for Gunz around but always thought it was a shooting or mafia game. But now that I know the real story it sounds like a lot of fun. Trackmania Nations looks pretty sweet too.

True Combat Elite and Gunz are my favorites from your list ,non stop action and fun, whats do u expectr more from a game ? not mentioning that it’s free…

If you dont like Warrock or gunz is propably cause you arent good to play it! Gunz took 3 years of improovement of scripting c++ and java c
and warrock tooked like 2 and a half years to build up the data and to play these games …
it costs nothing! thats why you need to pay for your own game! –>p.s;{“Script_name”} open/var/commands_line.aspx.
